What do you do when a dream has died?
Should you cling to it like a fool?
Or let it go and move on to something else to make you happy?
If you cling, why?
Why spend so much time hoping for that faraway payoff that may never come to fruition?
And if you let it go, how?
Do you pack it up in a neat little envelope?
Or do you set it to flight on the wings of the dove?
And no matter,
What to do with the sadness left behind?
As the years pass by,
Life knocks one dream down after another
So hard to press on when all you do is lose
If there be a God in heaven
Let me win just once
